The drive from Burgas Airport (BOJ) to Sunny Beach (Слънчев бряг) is about 35 km and usually takes 30–45 minutes by car. Here are the three options most travelers use, with pros and cons.
1. Pre-booked private transfer (recommended)
The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign, helps with luggage and delivers you door-to-door to the apartment. Fixed price, no negotiating after a long flight, child seats on request.
30–40 minutes
~€30–45 one way (sedan, up to 3 pax)
Best for families, late arrivals, and first-time visitors
We can arrange a transfer for SunnyStay guests — just mention it in the booking notes and we'll confirm the price by email.
2. Airport taxi
Official taxis are available at the arrivals exit. Always use the marked yellow cars with a meter — avoid drivers approaching you inside the terminal. Confirm the price before getting in.
30–45 minutes
~€35–60 one way (varies by season and time of day)
Convenient if you arrive without booking ahead
3. Public bus (line 15 + intercity)
The cheapest option, but requires a transfer in Burgas. Take city bus line 15 from the airport to the bus station (Aвтогара Юг), then an intercity bus to Sunny Beach via Nessebar.
~1.5–2 hours with the transfer
€5–8 total
Best for budget travelers with light luggage
Useful tips
• In high season (July–August) book the transfer at least a day ahead — taxis can be scarce after late flights.
• Most apartments in Sunny Beach are walkable from the main road, so confirm the exact drop-off address with your driver.
• Bring small euro notes or Bulgarian leva — many drivers don't have change for €50.
• Bulgaria adopts the euro on 1 January 2026; until then prices may be quoted in BGN.
